According to a recent press release, medical professionals from AIIMS Bhopal and Jodhpur have proposed a new model in collaboration with other healthcare experts, in collaboration with other health experts.
In a paper published in an open-access journal, experts throw light on that cancer care is traditionally concentrated in Tier -1 cities, increasing expansion in Tier -2 and Tier -3 regions. However, these areas often face challenges such as insufficient infrastructure, rising treatment costs, and socio-economic inequalities. The proposed model aims to streamline and adapt to cancer care distribution in these undusted areas, ensuring more equitable access to quality treatment
Fungal Infections Pose Growing Threat Amidst Diagnostic Gaps
“Aggressive fungi infections threatened the life of the weakest people, but many countries lack the treatment and diagnosis to save life, ”Dr. Yukiko Nakani said, WHO Assistant Director to the antimicrobial resistance advertisement interim.
Dr. Nakatani reported that not only is the lack of new antifungal drugs and clinical equipment, but many lower and medium -income countries, including district hospitals, lack basic fungal testing capabilities. He said, “This clinical difference leaves the root cause of an unknown suffering to the patient, which makes it difficult to treat properly,” he said.
Echoing this concern, an important care specialist at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in Delhi, Dr. Rajesh Chawla said that they continue to receive patients with severe fungi infections. He said, “It is difficult to manage these matters, especially when the fungi involved is resistant to existing drugs,” he said.
