Union Health Minister JP Nadda will unveil the upgraded platform, which builds upon the Aarogya Setu app introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic. Alongside it, the government will also introduce several new digital health initiatives designed to strengthen healthcare delivery, improve health management, and enhance interoperability within the health insurance ecosystem. Key benefits for citizens A major highlight of Aarogya Setu 2.0 is the introduction of an integrated Personal Health Record (PHR) application that brings a wide range of healthcare services together on a single platform. The application will enable users to create, manage, and maintain their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), while securely storing and sharing digital medical records. It will also offer AI-powered health insights, medication reminders, support for advanced wearable devices, and tools to manage both personal and family health records. Additionally, the platform will allow users to register for outpatient (OPD) services and make hospital payments using QR code-based "scan and register" and "scan and pay" features. Eligible beneficiaries will be able to access Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY services through the app, including hospital search, treatment records, medication history, and policy information. Consolidated health records are expected to support better treatment decisions, particularly for patients with serious illnesses, while improving the overall management of healthcare data. In addition to Aarogya Setu 2.0, the government will launch the National Health Claims Exchange (NHCX) to streamline and standardise health insurance claim processing between hospitals and insurers. New digital healthcare standards and technology tools for healthcare providers will also be introduced. The long-term success of these initiatives will largely depend on how widely they are adopted by hospitals, insurance companies, and state healthcare systems.
