As part of this arrangement, the construction of the hospital’s core infrastructure will be handled by the partner in accordance with Medanta’s requirements, while Medanta will invest in interiors, fit-outs, and medical equipment. The company’s total investment is projected to be around ₹550 crore. The hospital is set to come up on a well-located freehold land parcel in the heart of Varanasi and is expected to serve a population of more than 4 million across the city and nearby areas. It aims to provide advanced medical care by combining leading clinical expertise, state-of-the-art technology, and a wide range of specialty services. This initiative reflects Medanta’s ongoing effort to expand its footprint in Uttar Pradesh, building on the success of its 950-bed flagship hospital in Lucknow and its recently launched 550-bed facility in Noida. The upcoming Varanasi hospital will further enhance Medanta’s presence in India’s most populous state, which has a population exceeding 250 million.
