World Malaria Day 2025: WHO Urges Global Commitment with Theme ‘Malaria Ends with Us’

World Malaria Day is celebrated every year on 25 April to increase global awareness and encourage action against malaria. Started by the World Health Organization (WHO), this day serves as a platform to highlight the efforts in the final goal of malaria control, prevention and elimination.

The theme for this year, “Malaria ends with us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite,” as telling fresh commitment at every level – from international policy makers to ground level communities – to meet the speed in fighting against disease.

Malaria, a potentially fatal disease caused by parasites, remains a major health threat in the tropical and subtropical regions, transmitted through the bite of infected female anophalees mosquitoes. World Malaria Day honor is lost to the disease, celebrates the progress obtained, and emphasizes the immediate need for innovation, resources raising and wide public engagement. Along with medical treatment -spreading awareness about prevention is necessary to protect individuals and communities from malaria.
