CM Naidu Unveils Sanjeevani Pilot Initiative to Enhance Digital Healthcare Services

The government aims to strengthen predictive, preventive, and curative healthcare through technology, enabling residents to access medical consultations, book appointments, and view their health records digitally. 

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has inaugurated the pilot phase of the Sanjeevani programme in Aluru, Kurnool district, and announced that the state’s flagship digital healthcare initiative will be expanded across Andhra Pradesh beginning in August.

Sanjeevani is a digital health records programme designed to improve healthcare delivery by leveraging technology-driven services.

The state government said the initiative aims to promote predictive, preventive, and curative healthcare while creating individual digital health records for citizens.

Speaking at a public gathering after launching the pilot, Chief Minister Naidu said, “Our objective is to build a healthier Andhra Pradesh, and Sanjeevani adopts predictive, preventive, and curative approaches to safeguard public health.”

He explained that health data generated at Primary Health Centres (PHCs) will be integrated with state-level systems, enabling the creation of comprehensive digital health profiles for every resident through the Sanjeevani platform.

Naidu said the project has been introduced to establish personal health records for citizens and strengthen healthcare delivery, noting that nearly 8 million people in the state are currently living with serious illnesses.

Under the initiative, medical specialists will provide consultations on treatment and nutrition through telemedicine services. The Chief Minister also announced plans to introduce a Health X mobile application.

The platform will further integrate services covering non-communicable diseases, maternal and child healthcare, paediatric health screening, 108 emergency ambulance services, 104 mobile health units, e-Aushadhi, and laboratory services.

According to the Chief Minister, the system will also incorporate artificial intelligence-powered medical support, telemedicine, remote healthcare, predictive analytics, and digital nerve centres to meet future healthcare requirements.

Naidu added that the Sanjeevani Citizen Wellness App will allow residents to schedule doctor appointments and securely access their digital health records whenever required.

The pilot launch follows the Andhra Pradesh government’s earlier announcement of a statewide implementation of Sanjeevani, with the programme set to be introduced across the state in phases after the pilot project.
