Two Mumbai Hospitals to Collaborate on Cancer Treatment Expertise

India’s HCG Cancer Hospital in Colaba and the Asian Cancer Institute at Cumballa Hill Hospital have entered into a collaboration to develop an integrated cancer care model for patients across Mumbai and nearby regions.

The collaboration will cover multidisciplinary cancer treatment, coordinated diagnosis and treatment planning, as well as surgical, medical and radiation oncology.

The partnership will also involve decision-making through Multidisciplinary Tumour Boards, advanced diagnostic and pathology services, along with precision-based and personalised treatment approaches.

In addition, the initiative will focus on patient navigation, supportive, palliative and survivorship care, improving quality and outcomes, and advancing academic and training programmes.

Dr. B.S. Ajaikumar, Non-Executive Chairman of HealthCare Global Enterprises Limited, said the collaboration is intended to minimise gaps between different stages of cancer treatment and enhance coordination among specialists.

The two institutions plan to develop standardised clinical pathways, broaden cancer care services, reinforce specialist networks and bring in advanced treatment capabilities.

The organisations did not disclose financial details, expected patient volumes, additional capacity or timelines for implementation.
