Cancer Vaccine Market Set for Strong Growth as Immunotherapy Gains Wider Adoption

Summary:
Cancer vaccine sales are projected to grow at a 36% CAGR through 2036, with the market valued at around $335 million in 2025 and the US accounting for 87% of it. Prostate cancer led tracked cases with about 2.8 million cases in 2025 and is expected to represent 18% of the market by 2036, while melanoma, breast, lung and bladder cancers are also set for strong growth. Rising cancer rates, advances in immuno-oncology, genomic research and mRNA vaccine technology are driving the market, although converting promising trial immune responses into consistent late-stage clinical results remains a challenge.

Cancer vaccine sales are expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 36% through 2036, as the sector gradually transitions from an experimental area of immunotherapy into a more established clinical field.

A DelveInsight report estimates that the market was worth approximately $335 million in 2025, with the United States contributing 87% of the overall value.

Prostate cancer accounted for the largest number of cases among the indications tracked, with around 2.8 million cases recorded in 2025. The number is projected to continue rising through 2036.

By 2036, prostate cancer is expected to account for approximately 18% of the market, while melanoma, breast cancer, lung cancer and bladder cancer are projected to be among the fastest-expanding segments.

The market’s growth is being supported by increasing cancer incidence worldwide across different tumour types, continued developments in immuno-oncology, and progress in genomic sequencing and biomarker discovery.

In addition, advances and successful outcomes associated with mRNA vaccine platforms have helped drive greater investment and technological development, while the number of clinical programmes in the pipeline continues to increase rapidly.

However, despite the sector’s strong momentum, the report highlights an ongoing challenge in translating encouraging immune responses observed in trials into consistent and statistically significant results in late-stage clinical studies.
